ABL1000 Recoilless Disruptor and De-Armer

Currently in service with the UK MoD and worldwide security agencies, the ABL1000 is a dual role Recoilless Disruptor and De-Armer system developed to combat the threat posed by complex and well protected Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and Unexploded Ordnances (UXOs).

Product Capabilities

  • Manual multi-shot device capable of thousands of firings without affecting performance
  • Disruption barrel enables projection of high pressure water slug into the suspect device, rapidly disrupting the firing circuit and avoiding detonation
  • De-Armer barrel enables rapid firing of a selection of steel slugs, chisels or forks to remove or neutralise the fuses of ordnances including air-dropped bombs and land service munitions
  • Neutralises IEDs including pipe bombs and metal cased devices
  • Recoilless operation maximises operator safety and prevents collateral damage
  • Can be deployed by placing on an appropriate surface such as a car seat or sandbag, mounted in a supplied lightweight stand or on a Remotely Operated Vehicle for enhanced operator flexibility
  • Requires minimal training and maintenance

Product Specifications

  • Constructed from precision-manufactured corrosion resistant materials developed in accordance with ABP’s IS09001 quality approval system
  • Flaw detected and proofed during manufacture
  • Supplied as a complete kit housed in a robust, shock-resistant container
  • Disruptor mode length: 515mm, weight: 4.5kg
  • De-Armer mode length: 284mm, weight: 3.5kg

ABL2000 RECOILLESS DISRUPTOR AND DE-ARMER

ABL2000 Recoilless Disruptor and De-Armer

The ABL2000 Recoilless Disruptor has been developed to offer highly effective disruption performance combined with completely recoilless operation. It is typically used to defeat devices packaged in parcels, boxes, briefcases etc.

In contrast to many other competing equipment, ABL2000 has been carefully devised to ensure that its operation provides optimal disruptive effect while minimising the chance of initiating the explosive content of the suspect device. This unique ability has been developed through a series of formal tests against representative targets, sensitive explosives and pressure measuring systems.

Additionally, ABL2000 has been carefully designed to be simple to operate – consisting of only 5 parts which can be assembled quickly and easily even in adverse conditions. Careful consideration has been given to features such as thread pitches and finishes to minimise difficulties with assembly in dirty and sandy environments. The supplied ABL2000 cleaning kit ensures ease of cleaning after use, enabling contamination to be quickly and effectively removed.

Product Capabilities

  • Manual multi-shot device capable of thousands of firings without impacting performance
  • Light, robust and easy to operate
  • Recoilless operation maximises operator safety and prevents collateral damage
  • Can be operated with a small Remotely Operated Vehicle such as Cyclops (link)
  • Requires minimal training and maintenance

Product Specifications

  • Constructed from precision-manufactured corrosion resistant materials developed in accordance with ABP’s IS09001 quality approval system
  • Flaw detected and proofed during manufacture
  • Supplied as a complete kit housed in a robust, shock-resistant container or in a holdall style container.

ABL2000 LIGHTWEIGHT RECOILLESS DISRUPTOR AND DE-ARMER

ABL2000 Lightweight Recoilless Disruptor and De-Armer

The ABL2000 Lightweight is made of titanium, making it extremely portable. It is ideal for personnel to carry, or for use on small Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) on which payload weight needs to be kept to a minimum.

It is a multi-shot device, capable of many firings and requiring minimal maintenance. Training can be carried out on this disruptor without causing any detriment to its
service performance.

The ABL2000 Lightweight Recoilless Disruptor has been subject to a series of formal tests against representative targets, sensitive explosives and pressure measuring systems. This ensures reliable and consistent disruptive performance with complete recoilless operation, minimum collateral damage, and maximum operator safety.

This Disruptor can be supplied with additional facilities to provide enhanced capabilities. With a simple substitution of the front barrel assembly and use of the correct projectile, the Disruptor is able to operate as a De-Armer, capable of firing a range of solid projectiles such as chisels, slugs and forks.

The ABL2000 Lightweight Recoilless Disruptor is manufactured in accordance with the ISO 9001 quality standard. Prior to dispatch, all items of equipment are subjected to an overpressure proof test and flaw detection.
This Disruptor is supplied as a complete kit, containing all ancillary items required for use and operator maintenance, other kit variations are available to suit your needs.

LIGHTWEIGHT DISRUPTOR STAND

Lightweight Disruptor Stand

The Lightweight Disruptor Stand is a sturdy and durable metal stand which requires no tools or adjustment in order to set up into a wide array of positions. The stand is simply adjusted using force to pull the arms into the required position.

The Stand folds down into a compact size for transport and storage. The front stability foot slides and turns to neatly store underneath the main leg whilst the arms lay flat atop the leg.

The Lightweight Disruptor Stand can be used with an array of different Disruptors which can be mounted using a mounts supplied by AB Precision.
